Our Forest Classroom

We’ve partnered with Seattle Parks & Recreation to create a one-of-a-kind outdoor classroom at Camp Long. Carefully designed to blend into its surroundings, our wild space brings the comforts of an indoor classroom into the heart of the forest, while treading gently on the land.

Here, children are invited to use both natural materials and thoughtfully provided items to spark their curiosity, imagination, and creativity. Our classroom serves as a home base, where we gather before setting out on hikes to explore the park’s trails and hidden gems, enjoying activities, games, stories, and more along the way.

Within the space, children can discover a cozy library, a welcoming meeting area, an art hub, dramatic play corners, building blocks, and a digging zone. All open to endless possibilities for play and learning.

Our Teacher

Hi, I’m Archer! Nature has been my playground since childhood - hiking, camping, fishing and foraging alongside my dad. At age twelve, I summited Mount St. Helens with him, sparking a lifelong love for adventure.

For much of my life, I’ve balanced private childcare with a career in business management, but in 2020 I took a leap - selling everything, moving into an RV, and traveling the country solo for a year. That journey led me to the Olympic Peninsula, where I guided sea kayaking adventures and discovered my passion for teaching children about the natural world.

Since then, I’ve worked with Tiny Trees, a Seattle-based nature school, and later with South Seattle Co-op Preschools, teaching in both indoor classrooms and outdoors at Camp Long. These experiences shaped my vision for Archer’s Arrows: a space where children can learn, explore, and connect with Nature.

Today, when I’m not teaching, you can find me reading, biking, backpacking, kayaking, and enjoying the outdoors with my partner Monique and our two dogs, Ollie and Cooper.

Let’s take learning outside

We partner with schools and educational organizations to provide enriching nature-based classes for young learners. Reach out today to explore how your students can benefit from this unique outdoor experience.

If you’re a parent wishing your child had more outdoor time at school, we hear you. While our classes are offered through schools and programs (not individual enrollment), you can advocate for your child’s access to nature by sharing this opportunity with your child’s teacher or school director. We’d love to connect!
